True Value of a Medical Transcript

A real concern in the transcription industry  is that many prospective clients are more concerned about gettiing the lowest possible bottomline price for a transcript, rather than receiving the highest quality transcription available.  I have recently seen requests for transcripts at as low as 40 cents per audio minute , or 4 cents a line. Even in devevloping nations, this is not a viable price for transcription. Even extremely small companies, operating from their homes cannot afford to offer less than 8 cents per line for quality work and that is a bargain !

You get what you pay for – even in the transcription industry.  Prospective clients should realize that the quality you receive, and an appropriate turnaround time (typically 24 hours) are much more important issues than the price you pay.
